You should have your NUCLEUS X survey! 

Late last night, the ComicMix and BackerKit teams were able to finalize the Kickstarter surveys. As of now, you should be able to find your survey in your eMail.

If you have not gotten your survey, please check your eMail filters and find it. We cannot ship your rewards until you respond to your survey. If you need it, you can trigger a new sending of your survey at the link in the image below. Click on it: 

I'm sure you are happy about this news. I know I'm thrilled that soon you will be getting your rewards, and I will be able to reclaim my house from all these boxes of books, posters, prints, stickers, CDs, and packing materials! My wife thanks you! 

(On a sad note, our cats will likely miss hiding in the nooks and spaces between all the boxes. But it is a price we must accept. 😉 )

Everyone will have time to respond. From experience, it can take over a week for most people to respond to the survey. But once we reach that point, shipping will begin. I will be keeping you all informed along the way.

THE SURVEYS HAVE NOT (really) GONE OUT

So, the surveys have hit a snag. Another snag. =sigh=

A few of you got the NUCLEUS X surveys before the system shut it down. I am relaying this news 2nd hand from the fine folks at ComicMix who have been working for weeks to get the new interface with BackerKit set up for us. They have solved several problems that would have stopped me dead in the water. In fact, we are using a new beta option that BackerKit activated just for us that will save you all money - this directly due to the work ComicMix has done. But, from what I understand, our current problem centers on getting their system to properly assign (or NOT assign) VAT to our EU backers. 

We are all in this together. Until we resolve the EU VAT problem, all the surveys are held up. That's the way the system is set up. They hope to resolve everything in the next few days. We all want it resolved last week! I have not offered options for international backers or international shipping on my past two projects due to these kinds of problems. BackerKit is able to solve the problems. But apparently, setting it all up is still full of surprises.

OUR CONTINUING STORY:

In my last update, you might recall I warned you to be on the alert for your Kickstarter Survey. I expected it to go out almost immediately. But then a medical emergency hit one of the fine folks over at ComicMix and derailed a number of schedules.

Now, things are back on track.

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR YOUR KICKSTARTER SURVEY!

We want you to actually get your rewards, and have them delivered to the correct address! The way to make sure that happens is to respond to the Kickstarter request to review and update your shipping information. Look for the survey in your eMail. When you get the survey, don’t delay! Review and update ASAP. Then, in the 2nd week of April, you should be contacted by BackerKit to confirm shipping.

My original plan was to have some friends over for a Pizza & Packing Party to speedily get NUCLEUS X into the mail. But, with the delay in sending out the survey, I’ve already done about 70% of the packing. (We will still likely have that party, but it will be more party than packing. And there is nothing wrong with that!)

I have sent out most of the contributor copies of NUCLEUS X. This I could do without waiting on the Kickstarter Survey. And I know my one-time assistant editor, Gary Henry, has already shared his copy online. It is wonderful to finally be getting some feedback on all the work I’ve done for the past four years!

ARE YOU ATTENDING THE WINDY CITY PULP & PAPER SHOW?

I will be set up at the Windy City Pulp and Paper Show April 5-7. I will have NUCLEUS X on sale. But more importantly, if you are attending and would like to pick up your rewards, let me know by April 1st and I will bring them with me (no foolin'!) This will get them to you sooner and save you shipping costs. Please be aware that I will only have the NUCLEUS X rewards available on Saturday:

NUCLEUS X is in the house!
 

So, there was a delay with volume 1 of NUCLEUS X. But EVERYTHING is now in house. All volumes of NUCLEUS X (including the bonus 4th volume), the custom box, the bookmarks, trading cards, art prints, posters, music CD, shipping supplies and more are here at the house and ready to start packing. I've signed almost everything. 

This is a LOT of material. We are looking forward to you getting your rewards and to getting it OUT of the house!

Be on the lookout for your Kickstarter survey. It is of vital importance that you respond to this survey. We must have your shipping information to move forward.

BOOKS ARE PRINTED!

Printed NUCLEUS X books are in transit to our warehouse!

We expect to receive the four printed volumes of NUCLEUS X on Monday. When the truck arrives, the warehouse forklift will deposit them in the Insight Studios unit. Then I'll break apart the pallets, pulling as many cases as I can fit in my car. Because they need to come back to the Studio where I can sign them.

Meanwhile, I continue to sign prints! I'm about 2/3 of the way through almost 2000 of these. I have to take breaks to keep my hand in shape. And, come Tuesday of next week, I begin signing the volumes of NUCLEUS X. 

We are still waiting on the arrival of the custom box. It looks like that is running a little over a week behind the books. That should give me time to get the books signed. Once that is all done and the boxes arrive, packing and shipping will begin. 

I can't wait for everyone to see how nice everything has printed. 

By the way, jury duty is behind me! And the family is once again healthy!
